Chasin' Cheeky Houseparty

Have I ever mentioned that I am a member of Houseparty?
It's awesome.
They offer different parties all year that you apply for to be a host,
and if you're selected, they send you a party pack with stuff to
host a party so your friends and family can try new products.

I've done it for several years now, and I've been able to host around 6 parties.
The last one was last week.
It was a Chasin' Cheeky party, for the new Hasbro game.
The kids loved it!
Even my 18-month-old got in on the fun and was able to put rings on the monkey.

We played Chasin' Cheeky, Hi-Ho Cherry-O!, and Memory.
We were also given some new Cheetos to try, and everyone thought
they were delicious.

If you're not a member of Houseparty, I highly recommend heading over to the
website and signing up.  There are some great parties coming up!

BIC Soleil House Party

Are you a member of houseparty.com?
You should be.

Go sign up.
It's free, and you are able to host great parties to let friends
and family know about new products that have come out, or are about to come out.
I've hosted several in the past, and last Wednesday I was able to host
one for the new BIC Soleil Shave & Trim Razor.

I was sent 12 razors to give to party guests, and a box of
other items to make the party enjoyable.
We talked about how great the new razor is (no one had heard of it before),
but I used it prior to having the party & let me tell you,
it's my new favorite razor!!
I was already a fan of BIC Soleil razors, but this one is even better.
It has a little attachment that you can slide on the razor & trim up the bikini area.
Awesome.
Go try some out.
And sign up for houseparty, because you can host great parties like this and
get new products to give to your friends.

Gray & Yellow Baby Shower

I hosted a baby shower for a friend a couple weeks ago.
It was awesome.

I wasn't sure what theme I wanted to go with, so I snagged the theme from
my friend's plan for the nursery for her new baby,
gray and yellow.

And it was GREAT!

Here are some pictures from the party.

I hung a pennant banner across the front of the table,
and some gray & yellow paper things
hanging from the ceiling.

 I served rice krispie treats,
lemon cupcakes, and vanilla pudding in baby food jars with
two mini nilla wafers on top
 The cupcakes were pretty good.
I used the recipe here.

I made a circle garland from several sheets of scrapbook paper
And I made some tissue paper puff balls.
It was my first time making them.
They were pretty easy, but need a lot of paper per ball.
I was a little skimpy with the paper, so I probably would have been
more pleased if I hadn't.
But tissue paper can get expensive.  So I just had 7.
But it was enough.

I also bought 1/8 yard of three different yellow and gray fabrics
from JoAnn.  Then I cut them into strips and tied
them onto some gray ribbon.
I thought it was pretty cute.
And the whole thing was about $7.

 Entry table;
here's a close-up of the chalkboard
And I had these cutie elephant sugar cookies
in the little basket on this table as a favor, so the guests could
grab one or two on their way out the door.
It was a lot of fun planning this party,
and it seemed that everyone who was able to come had fun.
So it's a complete success in my book.

Also, did you see how great the table looks in use?!
I had asked my husband to try to have it done so we could use it
for the party.  And it was done and dry with enough time to spare.
Thanks, Honey!

Rainbow Birthday Party

I tried to avoid it.
But when my daughter came up with the theme of
rainbows for her birthday, I gave in.
And of course it was fun.
I'm not sure why I didn't want to do it, but I'm glad that I didn't try
to talk her out of it (well, at least not much).

And it's kind of embarrassing that it has taken me so long to
post the pictures, since she's been 5 for a couple months already.
But my excuse is that I forgot my camera and had
to use a friend's phone to get pictures (which is why we only have some
before pics), and then I forgot to download them
to the computer after they were emailed to me.

But here they are, without any further ado...

 The food table

 The cake table

The top cupcake, for the birthday girl

 The whole scene...my parent's backyard

The birthday banner I made a few years ago & the rainbow paper chain

Rainbow cupcakes in a jar (her choice) and some rainbow
Rice Krispie treats in a jar for the gluten/dairy free crowd

 Daddy's special birthday cake

 Rainbow water bottles

And the rainbow pinata!
I made it out of a shoe box.
And since I'm not a big fan of beating pinatas, I made it a pull-tab one.
And since the kids were all little, we made sure that they each had a ribbon
to pull on at the same time.
We filled it with fruit snacks and homemade gluten & dairy free cookies.
